What a miraculous day!! Admitted to the hospital a 7:00 am to be induced, we had the Dr. break my water. We waited for contractions to start but they were not coming on as we had expected so at noon we opted for pitocin. Around 2:30 pm the hard contractions began and at 4:00 pm I was dialated to 6 cm. At this point we had the epidural administered...boy that was an experience! Numb...completely numb... Around 7:00 pm I was dialated to 10 cm and ready to go, the Dr. was called in and I began pushing at 7:20 pm. The next hour and a half were a lot of work, very exhausting! At 8:55 pm Paige Olivia Stone entered the world. What a WONDERFUL experience it was! Pete cut the cord and I said "It's a girl...we had a feeling it was a girl...oh, Paige Olivia Stone...I'm so happy to see you!" Honestly, we had the best support team at Bergan Mercy Hospital which made the entire labor and delivery much easier than I ever expected. Who knows, maybe a second isn't out of the question but I think we'll take our time to enjoy Paige for a while.
